Occasionally, if the weather deteriorates during the day a decision has to be taken to send the students and staff home early while the roads are still passable.
We will make every effort to inform parents that students are being sent home early but it is not always possible to contact everyone. In this respect, we use the primary contact on the school’s database, please ensure this is kept up to date.
How to find out if the school is closed
Check the school website (www.allsaints.dorset.sch.uk) details are usually updated by 7:00am. We will also update our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter & Instagram) with the latest news on the school closure.
The Headteacher will decide as to whether the school is to be open/closed/partially closed.
This information will be put on the front page of the All Saints website & Twitter daily. We will text and email parents/carers* as early as possible in the morning.
During school hours
The Headteacher will decide as to whether the school is to be /closed/partially closed or remain open.
In the event of full or partial closure during the day we will text and email the parents/carers*, that the school will be closing and that either their child will be sent home or will remain in school for contact to be made directly by their tutor. Parents/carers have already provided their instruction for this on our admissions or data collection forms.**
For any following days, the above procedure will be used.
*We use the first priority contact details for each child as held on our database. Please ensure you keep the school informed with any up to date information particularly in regard to the First Priority Contact mobile and email details.
**Each child’s tutor holds a list of that information.
