Year 8 Food and Nutrition students were treated to a masterclass in polish home cooking. Dorota and her son Peter kindly provided the filling and together they demonstrated how to make pierogi. These delicious dumplings were made by wrapping unleavened dough around a filling of mashed potato and finely chopped spring onions, cooked in boiling water and served with caramelised onions. This dish of Eastern European origin inspired inquisitive questioning from the students.
The students found the experience interesting, informative and delicious. The Pierogi were very much enjoyed by everyone.
Thank you Dorota and Peter.
