Principal’s Blog Week Commencing 21st September
It was a busy week last week – so much so that this offering is a little later than usual! I trust you have all enjoyed a good weekend and are ready to go again this coming week.
Last week saw a number of staff return after getting negative tests. This had an immediate impact for the good on students who I know were pleased to have their teachers back. It does seem to be that we will have to learn to live with the cycles of isolating, testing and tracing for the foreseeable future. If you need support for your son or daughter, please do let their Head of Year know in the first instance and they can advise the relevant member of staff or curriculum leader.
A highlight of last week was seeing students get their photos done – thank you for your support with uniform. If everyone could look like that every week, I would be a happy Principal indeed!
Please do keep an eye out on the web and FB for updates this week about FASA – Friends of All Saints Academy and this year’s fundraising appeal. We are really keen to provide further seating for students. The benches we bought last year have gone down well, but we don’t have enough at the moment and will be asking for your support.
Also this week, we will be looking forward to some key dates: our Online Open Evening which will be coming up soon and a Year 11 Information Evening. Due to Covid, both of these will be online events, but I am sure that they will be of interest to many of you.
Finally, please keep an on your inbox for a parent / carer survey that asks for your views about the return in September. I know we need to make a couple of tweaks to the model, but schools were definitely not designed with coronavirus in mind, so thank you for supporting us at this time!
All best wishes
John Cornish, Principal
