Dear Parents and Carers
My goodness – another whirlwind week to welcome us all back.
With announcements, follow up announcements and then adjustments to announcements, we could all be forgiven for needing a quick recap.
This week’s round up, therefore, is a pointer to mainly previously released information from this week in case you missed it first time around.
1. Return to school
I am very pleased to confirm the return to school begins on Monday 8 March. By Tuesday 9 March, all pupils will be back on site.
Next week, Year 11 will be tested on Wednesday, Year 10 on Thursday and Year 9 on Friday. Year 7 & 8 will test on Monday 8 March and be back on the Tuesday
If you’ve not done so, the letter about the return is essential reading and can be found here: https://allsaints.dorset.sch.uk/download/return-to-face-to-face-education/?wpdmdl=7466&refresh=6039123fe56c21614352959
Pupils do not need to wear uniform for their tests. They must be in full uniform for the return. They should wear face coverings when on site.
2. Year 11 Exams
I am pleased that the government has decided to trust teacher judgement.
There is still much work to do though and everything to play for since we are required to submit evidence for the grades we award. We will brief pupils when they return.
Please do read my formal letter here: https://allsaints.dorset.sch.uk/download/gcse-update-letter-grading/?wpdmdl=7468&refresh=6039123fe1a181614352959
3. Last week of remote learning
Let’s make this a good one!
I think everyone has had enough of this for the time being, so please do encourage your children and spur on their efforts in the last stretch. If you need support, please do contact us and don’t forget that the laptops allocated will stay with your children until the end of their education with us.
Finally, with the declining infection rates and promising vaccine news, I hope everyone is feeling a little brighter. I fully realise, though, that increasingly, families are personally and individually affected by covid, particularly with the loss of grandparents. If you are in this position, do know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. Please reach out to us if your child needs pastoral support.
With every blessing for a good weekend
