Dear Parents and Carers
Thank you for your support this week.
There have been a couple of key letters that have gone out today.
I would be grateful for you checking our website here to ensure you have read them all:
https://allsaints.dorset.sch.uk/parents/letters/
As ever, I’d like to make a couple of points summing the week up:
1. Entrances to school
I’m sorry that we needed to close Ryland’s Lane at short order today. This is a clear and present health and safety matter and the entrance is not accessible for the foreseeable future. I am working urgently with the Trust to ensure this is re-opened as soon as possible.
In the meantime, please ask students to use Sunnyside Road. They can use Portland up until the 2nd December when this will be blocked off due to the surface improvement work going on in the playgrounds.
I would be grateful if you would ask students not to arrive on site until 5 minutes before the start of their day. Also, please ask them to maintain social distancing where possible when coming to and from school.
I am genuinely sorry for the inconvenience caused.
2. Staffing updates
I was pleased to welcome Mr Purkis to site for an induction day today. He will start in earnest as Vice Principal (Deputy Headteacher) on Monday. Please do welcome him to our community.
He will introduce himself via letter to you all on Monday.
3. Covid 19
We will all have heard the news about the tiering system by now.
Whilst patience may be wearing thin, it is important we all work together to keep each other safe by following the restrictions in place.
I am pleased to say we have had not had any more confirmed cases at this stage.
Please do ensure you discuss the important of hand hygiene with your children and please keep in touch with us about symptoms if necessary.
Finally, thank you for all of your communication. I know how important this is to parents, and we are working hard to make sure this is effective and consistent.
Please do enjoy a restful weekend – I look forward to seeing students again on Monday
Kind Regards
John Cornish, Principal
