Welcome to the second the week of my Principal’s blog. As ever, it has been a busy week at All Saints.
Firstly, an update on coronavirus. All tests are now in and all have been confirmed as negative. Whilst this means that none of our students were affected by the ski trip to Italy, it does not mean, of course, that we can forget about the virus. It is really important that we all consider sensible ways to prevent the spread of germs at this time of year. The NHS advice regarding handwashing and “Catch it, Bin it, Kill it” will help us all do this. If the situation changes nationally and the advice to Headteachers is updated, I will write to you with further information.
With this all in mind, please can I ask for your support with attendance. This has taken a real hit over the last couple of weeks but is so important for all students. If students are in school then they are able to learn!
There are also some other key events this week that I would like to draw your attention to. Firstly, staffing. We have appointed a Family Liaison Officer, Sophie Cherry, who will be working with families to ensure students attend well and enjoy their learning. We have also appointed a SENDCO, Mrs Jeans. She will join us after Easter. We are also recruiting for a Maths Teacher, a Science Teacher, a First Aid Leader and Curriculum Leader of English. I am committed to ensuring the team at All Saints is absolutely first rate!
Secondly, students have had such a great range of opportunities this week. Year 8 have had Chelsea’s Story https://www.facebook.com/AllSaintsChurchofEnglandAcademy/photos/a.310647966364664/643315206431270/?type=3&theater and Year 9 have enjoyed Employability Masterclasses. We have also celebrated Student of the Week, but some students still need to see me to collect their certificates! Keep up to date with our PE department news here – Year 7 have certainly been working hard! https://twitter.com/PE_Saints
Onto other school matters… I have asked for support with uniform and would be grateful for this next week. Also, please can we all ensure student toilets are treated with respect. There has been some poor behaviour here recently that does not meet our expectations and does not help our community.
Finally, on a thoroughly more positive note, please take a few minutes to vote on our final vision survey! You can read about our core values here https://www.allsaints.dorset.sch.uk/download/all-saints-ce-academy-core-values/?wpdmdl=5497&refresh=5e62ac2c22e1e1583524908
Do enjoy a restful weekend and spend some time with your families – I will be cheering on my youngest child at a swimming gala!
