Dear Parents and Carers
It has been a strange week for all us, I am sure, with the onset of lockdown 2.0. I hope this week’s informal round up is of relevance to you and helps keep you up to date.
1. Parents Evenings
Thank you to year 11 parents, carers, students and teachers for your work with the new School Cloud system. We will take all of the feedback from everyone and see how we can improve next time.
Parents in other year groups…I will write to you with dates of your children’s parent consultation evenings next week. The new online system seems to have worked well in the majority of cases and certainly is covid secure!
2. Covid – Lockdown, masks and key messages
Please remember that we are now in another lockdown which means the message is “Stay at Home”. Full details can be found here https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus
Please also remember the HANDS FACE SPACE campaign to stop the spread of Covid 19.
I am very grateful for the rapid uptake of masks in communal areas.
Please read my letter here https://allsaints.dorset.sch.uk/download/letter-re-compulsory-face-masks/?wpdmdl=6941&refresh=5fa59347a07f01604686663
Please send children in with a small bottle of hand sanitiser if possible.
3. Student of the Week
As ever, I have pleased to give out certificates for this award this week and will continue to do so! We have introduced a new set of values badges that will align to our rewards system. I hope students will like them!
4. Our site
I am pleased to let you know informally that Ambitions Academies Trust have agreed to resurface our MUGA football court, the tennis court and the South Playground. This will be a significant capital investment in our site and as soon as I have final plans of a start date for the works, I will let you know formally.
On site issues, please can I ask that you support key message at home. The toilets have been much better, although there has been an incident today unfortunately. Also, the automatic hand sanitisers are there to protect all of us and I would be grateful for you reminding students to use them sensibly.
5. Children in Need
Please do take a moment to read my letter here detailing how we will support this excellent charity this year and next week:

6. Year 11 Mocks
These begin in a week’s time. Please remind all students that they must be quiet in the relevant areas and allow Year 11 students to have every chance of success on the day.
7. Finally…
Thank you for all of your support.
I have received two lovely messages of support from parents this week which have been such a tonic to the circumstances in which we find ourselves at this time. I appreciate that there are still many things for us to improve and my staff and I are working hard to do this. I hope you know by now that I will always listen to all stakeholders in our efforts to improve wherever possible.
However, should you think we’ve done something well, please do let us know – this really does spur us on and help us know we’ve got it right!
Kindness goes a long way in these days when we are all anxious and doing our level best under some challenging circumstances.
I shall leave it there in the interests of brevity and simply wish you and yours a restful weekend!
Stay safe and God bless you!
John Cornish, Principal
