‘Writers Write’ is a new group for creative writers in Y9 and 10. We meet on alternate Thursdays in S1 until 5pm and are led by veterans of All Saints Writers Group, Louis Barwick, Ethan Skillman and Mr Docherty along with published Dorset Echo writer Joanna Orrell.
Our first session was based on a ‘Reverse Engineering’ of the Ted Hughes poem ‘The Thought Fox’ where Hughes is stuck for ideas late at night and sees a fox in his garden who mysteriously helps him to fill his empty page. Without seeing this poem first, the group was guided towards expressing something similar. In Louis’ case this is easy to spot, in Ethan’s…not so much!
It’s fun to create and share with others. Come along.
